About

Welcome to my home on the Web. I’m a fiftyish former computer systems engineer who specialized in networks. I live in Baltimore, Maryland with my husband and Spencer-the-Beagle. Since a September 2001 layoff I have preferred making my own way in the world to joining Yet Another Consulting Firm. I do this by making websites for small businesses and, more recently, by making rosaries, prayer beads, and jewelry. I have two absolutely delightful sons, both now grown and on their own.

It’s amazing what you can get done when you’re not spending 80% of your time on travel. For example, I’ve become an active self-taught knitter, taken up Beagle rescue and re-homing, started up a really primo collection of old fountain pens, and learned a lifetime’s worth of beading techniques. I try to share here what I’ve learned about making rosaries and other beaded items.

This blog is about my various interests. It’s primarily intended to serve as an add-on for¬† my rosary and jewelry clients from Atelier-Beads. I also occasionally muse on life with the Beagle, life with a Mac, my prized collection of fountain pens, my excursions into knitting, and what it’s like to care for an Aged Parent.

I have created this blog using WordPress 2.7 and the Magazine Basic theme, which I’ve modified to suit myself.
